One of our little ladies finally did it! Our EE / Ameraucana Blanche laid her first egg last week, so I have been working on some logo ideas for our egg cartons. These are very preliminary, but have been really fun to work on so I thought I would share my WIP. Oh yeah, I will be ordering these cartons for our little ladies.
Taking me a bit to get there with the greetings, but something is better then nothing right?! number 6 and 7 for #101greetings. I even made a lil gif for one :)
Scotland Ireland photo dump! Last April my husband and I took a trip with friends to Scotland and Ireland. We set out to hike the entire West Highland Way, ha - which we did unsuccessfully. We made it about 40 miles out of the 96. On the trail we realized no one carries packs, and they complete it in 10 days. For some reason I thought I could do it in 7 days with a 30lbs pack! We did 3 days of the trail, before my knees were totally over it with all the down hill hiking. All was not lost though! We made our way to the Highlands, to Isle of Skye, and an amazing Scotch tour ( all things that wouldn't have been able to see / do if we had completed the hike ) I think we really got the best of both worlds :) Then we were off to Ireland to meet friends, listen to music, and sample the Guinness
Iceland is still one of my favorite places I have ever traveled. My husband and I went on an epic honeymoon adventure there two years ago, and dream of going back. Only next time we will rent a camper van and drive around the entire country. Here is a peek at a million photos from our trip that I haven't shared. All images shot + edited on the iphone
5/101 for 101 greetings!
So, basically my entire summer has been about the chickens. We finished up our coop this week, and I finished up this painting of little Rose :) Along with a HUGE overhaul of my website. Here's to a new adventure of continuing to raise our chickens, and hopefully some new work opportunities! Cheers! Happy Friday!
We finally finished our coop! We are pretty pleased with how it turned out - the ladies seem to be loving it too :)
Let's weekend! 4/101 for #101greetings
Let's all remember to be kind to one another, ok? 3/101 for #101greetings
Below are my first two greetings in the project! They were really fun to make! I'm excited to continue with more greetings and play with my illustration style
I'm excited to announce that I am kicking off a new project for myself titled 101 greetings. I will be posting images and process to this blog and to instagram too! If you aren't already following me my instagram can be found here.
My husband and I became chicken parents around 4 weeks ago. So far it's been a lot of fun! We are in the process of building them their coop in our back yard, which hasn't been as fun - haha. Luckily Chris is good at building / designing. He fully designed out coop in sketch-up and we are even putting in an old window from out home which was built in 1932. I can't wait to get to the fun part of painting it, we discussed painting a pattern on it :) Here are some pics of our girls over the past few weeks.
Working on some new card concepts! More to come...
I started this piece so long ago! Happy I had some free time this afternoon to finish it up :)
It's been a while since I was able to sit down and play in my studio. I revisited some old work this afternoon and gave it some new life by adding is some typography I drew up this morning. Hope everyone has a happy Friday!
